Batam, Batamnews - As many as 7 Indian citizens (WN) escaped the Covid-19 quarantine obligation in various ways, they arrived in Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) airport, Jakarta.

Among them, some fled to Batam. Head of the Batam TPI Class I Special Immigration Office, Ibnu Ismoyo, said that his party was tracking the Indian citizens.

"I'm looking for it first, wait a minute," said Ismoyo, Thursday (29/4/2021).

He promised that after receiving information about the Indian citizen, he would immediately deliver it.

In addition, his party will continue to coordinate with the Task Force (Satgas).

As previously reported, as many as 7 Indian citizens escaped the Covid-19 quarantine obligation in various ways, including being assisted by several rogue officers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said that the motive was to pay a sum of money to the rogue officer. "The motive is the same," said Yusri at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police, Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

The 7 Indians, said Yusri, had seats taking care of them from getting off the plane to going through a three-stage inspection process. "They can get through because someone helps and pay Rp. 6 million, 6.5 million, 7.5 million can escape without quarantine."

Jockeys have prepared taxis outside the airport to take Indians away from the 14-day quarantine.

Supposedly, said Yusri, all passengers from abroad must follow the Covid-19 quarantine stages for 5 days. Especially for Indian citizens, quarantine is valid for 14 days because in that country the Covid-19 outbreak is quite high.

The police named 11 suspects related to escaping the Covid-19 quarantine, consisting of 7 Indian citizens and 4 Indonesian citizens who helped foreigners leave the airport without going through the quarantine process.

The 5 Indians were arrested by Senthil Ranganathan, Cherelovapil Mukri Muhammad Jabir, Kankurte Madhuri, Patel Narendra, and Patel Satish Darayan. While the other two are still at large, are Muhammed Shereef and Sathyanarayana Raomendarkar.
