Natuna-Anambas to Immediately Carry Out a Conference Discussing Its Division Plan From Riau Islands

Natuna, Batamnews - The discourse on the division of Natuna-Anambas to become a Special Province for Natuna Islands -Anambas is getting more intense.

The Governor of Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad previously supported this if it fulfilled certain aspects. "If it is the purpose for welfare why not, but of course there are aspects that must be analyzed," said Ansar some time ago.

This was also the main reason the Natuna-Anambas provincial expansion team or better known as Team 9 from Natuna visited Anambas.

The leader of Team 9, Umar Natuna, told batamnews that the arrival of Team 9 at Anambas received an extraordinary welcome from both the local government and all elements of society.

"Currently, both the Natuna and Anambas people have the same determination and desire to immediately realize the expansion of a new autonomous region, namely the Natuna-Anambas Islands Province," he explained, Friday (2/4/2021).

He also said that if the two districts agreed to hold a large conference (Mubes) as soon as possible.

"We have formed a conference committee, and the plan is that after Eid this year we will carry out a conference. For the location of the conference, it will be held whether in Natuna or Anambas. We have not decided yet," said Umar.

Umar, who was appointed as the Head of the conference committee also said that currently two members of the DPRD Kepri who came from Natuna, Ilyas Sabli, and Hadi Chandra, were in talks with the Governor of Riau Islands regarding the conference plan.

"We hope that the conference can be carried out immediately and produce a mutual agreement on the plan for the expansion of Natuna -Anambas," he hoped.
