200 Teachers Have Been Injected With COVID-19 Vaccine in Tanjungpinang

Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - A total of 2,925 teachers and teaching staff for preschool, early childhood education, elementary school, and junior high school of Tanjungpinang began to undergo Covid-19 vaccination, Thursday (18/3/2021).

Covid-19 vaccination for teachers and educators will be carried out in phases. The first phase will be conducted on 200 elementary school teachers in the East Tanjungpinang District.

"At this initial stage, we get a quota of 400 people. 200 elementary school teachers and 200 junior high school teachers. Today, elementary school teachers are vaccinated. Meanwhile, junior high school teachers are still waiting for the schedule," explained the Acting Head of the Tanjungpinang Education Office, Soemantri.

For this quota of 400 people, Soemantri said that his party prioritized the East Tanjungpinang District area. In this area, the spread of Covid cases is still quite high.

"After getting more quota, we will direct it to teachers and educators in three other districts," he concluded.

He added that all teachers and educators were registered. The targets are all vaccinated.

"Whether they can be vaccinated or not depends on the results of the screening. However, we hope that all of them can be injected with the vaccine. If everyone is vaccinated, we will open schools. God willing, the new academic year, of course with face-to-face learning patterns that we will arrange," he said.

The Head of the Manpower Development Division of the Tanjungpinang Education Office, Salbiah, explained that the 200 teachers who were vaccinated today are SD teachers from six schools in the East region, namely, public elementary school 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 007, 009.
