Batam - The police arrested two people who were involved in the fabrication of fake rapid test letters in Batam, Riau Islands.

The two people arrested were Derisman and Wendry. They are security and laboratory personnel at Graha Hermine Hospital, Batam.

The Head of Batam's Hang Nadim Airport Police, AKP (Adjunct Police Commissioner) Nidya Astuti said the two suspects fabricated hospital documents by forging a doctor's stamp and signature.

"Derisman, the perpetrator is a security officer at the Graha Hermine hospital, while Wendry is a laboratory officer at the same hospital," said Nidya, Monday (12/20/2020).

This case was revealed following the failure of a family to go to Medan, North Sumatra via Hang Nadim Airport on Saturday (19/12/2020).

At that time, officers were suspicious of the rapid test letters brought by this family. The suspicion arose because the letter was different from the documents held by airport officials.

The Graha Hermine Hospital, confirmed by officers, then came to Hang Nadim Airport and stated that the letter brought by the passenger was not registered.

Nidya explained that the doctor listed in the document was no longer working at Graha Hermine Hospital.

The two suspects stole the rapid test documents from the hospital and faked them. They appreciated the forged documents for Rp. 600.000.

Derisman and Wendry now have to deal with the law. They are charged under Article 263 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 6 years.
