Tanjungpinang - The government of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands will not hold fireworks during new year's eve of 2021.

The Regional Secretary of Tanjungpinang, Teguh Ahmad Syafari, said there was no fireworks party on New Year's Eve to avoid crowds of people.

"There is no agenda for fireworks on New Year's Eve," Teguh said, Monday (14/12/2020).

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Teguh emphasized that activities that draw crowds are not allowed.

Not only the fireworks festival, but he also mentioned that the joint praying event like last year, also may not be held again this year.

"There is no agenda yet, I don't think there is one either," he said.

Usually, New Year's Eve is celebrated with fireworks and trumpet blows. For in Tanjungpinang, several locations have become locations of interest in the celebration of the New Year.

Like in Gonggong Building, this new icon of the capital of the Riau Islands has become a target for people to spend time with their families.

Then at Laut Rimba Jaya, this is a favorite place for young people to hang out while watching the fireworks.
