Tanjungpinang - The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Tanjungpinang has increased significantly.

The head of the Tanjungpinang Health Office, Rustam explained, based on the PCR results received by his party  in Tanjungpinang, there were an additional 20 new cases.

"Of the number of new cases, eight of the transmissions were from one of the Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (PUPR) employees who had previously been confirmed positive," said Rustam, Wednesday (12/8/2020).

Rustam continued, two other cases from the families of the Tanjungpinang PUPR patient with initial ASN who have been confirmed positive. While the other six cases were employees and honorariums from Riau Islands Provincial Government.

"Three more cases from families of hospital health workers that previously tested positive and one case from vertical agencies," he explained.

Rustam said until now there were 9 health workers confirmed positive. This Covid-19 hero was exposed to the transmission of the patient he handled. "For PUPR employees there are currently 9 people in total," he said.

Currently, there are 83 positive patients in Tanjungpinang, 17 isolated in hospital, 25 integrated quarantine, 41 independent isolation.

The cumulative cases that occurred were 120 cases, of which 34 cases have been declared cured with 3 cases had died.
