Quarantine 293 Indonesian Citizens From Malaysia in Batam, 2 People Have HIV/AIDS

Batam - As many as 293 Indonesian citizens from Malaysia arrived in the country through Batam, Thursday (5/21/2020). But six of them were in a vulnerable condition.

Head of the Batam Class I Port Health Office (KKP), Achmad Farchanny said 6 of these vulnerable conditions were based on reports from Malaysia.

The six vulnerable conditions consisted of 2 people who have HIV / AIDS, one person has had a stroke, and three people are pregnant.

Towards the six people, Achmad explained that they were still placed in the Tanjunguncang Flat, along with other Indonesian citizens.

"Because it has been examined at the port, it is not a problem to be merged in Tanjung uncang," he said on Friday.

Meanwhile Head of Batam City Health Office, Didi Kusmarjadi said furthermore if one of the six shows any symptoms of illness, it could be immediately referred to the Galang Special Infection Hospital (RSKI).

"If the conditions are stable, they will still remain in the flat, including those who are pregnant," Didi said.

Previously reported, hundreds of Indonesian citizens had been tested by the Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT), and the result was that there was one person who showed reactive result.

"Furthermore, this reactive one will undergo swab test," said Head of Batam City Health Office.
