Swedish-Indonesian Sustainability Delegation Visits BP Batam to Explore Investment Opportunities

Batam, Batamnews.co.id - The Swedish-Indonesian Sustainability Partnership delegation visited the Batam Management Board (BP Batam) on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. The delegation was led by the Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Daniel Blockert, and was received by the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi; Deputy Head of BP Batam, Purwiyanto; Member of Strategic Policy, Enoh Suharto Pranoto; and Member of Business Development, Wan Darussalam.

High Appreciation

The visit was highly appreciated by H.E. Daniel Blockert, who was delighted with the warm welcome extended by BP Batam. According to him, the visit of the Swedish delegation to BP Batam is an initial step to explore promising investment opportunities in Batam.

"This visit lays the foundation for us to further explore economic cooperation opportunities in Batam," said Daniel.

He also expressed his interest in the presentation delivered by BP Batam, particularly in exploring investment opportunities in the healthcare, renewable energy, manufacturing, and waste management sectors.

"In my opinion, these sectors are the most interesting. We believe that we can collaborate, especially since Batam has a very strategic location, being a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) area with numerous industrial zones and excellent facilities," said the Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia, Daniel Blockert.

Welcoming Remarks

In his welcoming remarks, the Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi, extended his congratulations to Daniel Blockert on his recent appointment as Ambassador. Muhammad Rudi also welcomed the exploration of investment opportunities from the Swedish Embassy.

During the occasion, Muhammad Rudi outlined several ongoing investment projects, including infrastructure, renewable energy, and healthcare sectors.

"We hope that their interests, such as renewable energy, Light Rail Transit (LRT), manufacturing, and healthcare, can be realized. BP Batam is ready to support and facilitate these investment efforts," said Muhammad Rudi, Head of BP Batam.

Three-Day Visit

Ambassador Daniel Blockert and his delegation will be in Batam for three days. During their stay, they will visit several companies.

The visit of the Swedish Ambassador is expected to bring significant hope for strengthening economic cooperation between Indonesia and Sweden, thereby opening investment opportunities that will benefit the people of Batam.
