Batam, Batamnews - Several related parties agreed to repatriate hundreds of Vietnamese citizens via Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri).

Immigration, the Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) repatriated a total of 240 Vietnamese citizens, on Monday (15/11/2021).

The Head of Technology and Information of the Immigration Office Class I TPI Batam, Tessa Harumdilla said the repatriation was carried out by Vietjet Air (VJ-2561) to Da Nang, Vietnam.

He added that consolidation will be carried out as soon as possible regarding the list of numbers and names submitted.

There are no special requirements for the repatriation of foreigners. The important thing is that the legal settlement in Indonesia has been completed.

"However, those who cannot meet the requirements for the next flight will be submitted again to the Vietnamese Embassy," he said.

For this reason, suggestions for replacement names, notifications, and requests for letters to the local Covid-19 Task Force are also made regarding this repatriation plan.

Of the total 240 Vietnamese citizens, only 166 people can be repatriated.

"For the rest (Vietnamese), we are still waiting for further information from the Vietnamese embassy," said Tessa.
