Bintan Agricultural Commodity Export Value Increases Rp 358 Billion

Bintan, Batamnews - Bintan Regency is one of the regions that has succeeded in increasing the highest agricultural export value in Indonesia. This success made the Acting Regent of Bintan, Roby Kurniawan, receive an award from the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin.

Based on records from the IQFAST system in the Tanjungpinang Agricultural Quarantine, the leading export agricultural products from Bintan Regency consist of two types of commodities, namely rubber, and coconut.

Tanjungpinang Agricultural Quarantine Head, Raden Nurcahyo Nugroho said that the agricultural commodities exported from Bintan were coconut cake, slab rubber, grated coconut, and coconut milk.

The value of these exports increased by Rp 358 billion in the first semester of 2021 compared to the same period last year (yoy).

"This increase is certainly very encouraging, and hopefully this will increase the enthusiasm of agribusiness business actors, both farmers, exporters, and others to continue to improve their export performance," said Raden Nurcahyo, Tuesday (14/9/2021).

These agricultural commodities are exported to several countries. Starting from India, South Korea, Vietnam, China, Russia, Germany, Netherlands, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

Agriculture is also considered capable of being the backbone of the economy. Even amid the disruption caused by the Covid-19 protesters. Then also meet the food needs of the people and improve the welfare of farmers.

"At Tanjungpinang Agricultural Quarantine, apart from overseeing food safety and agricultural quality control, we also have a special task to oversee the performance of agricultural exports from Riau Islands," he said.
