PPKM Level 4 is Officially Extended in Tanjungpinang and Batam until August 9th

Tanjungpinang, Batamnews - The implementation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Riau Islands Province (Kepri), especially Tanjungpinang and Batam has been extended again.

The extension of PPKM Level 4 in Tanjungpinang and Batam was conveyed by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian in a letter circulated to the regional heads of each region, Monday (2/8/2021) night.

The letter said, in accordance with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia to implement PPKM in the areas of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua by the criteria for the level of the pandemic situation based on an assessment by the Ministry of Health.

"This Ministerial Instruction will take effect on August 3, 2021, until August 9, 2021," the Circular letter (SE) wrote.

As for the health protocol regulations, the letter will be determined by the respective regional heads.

Previously, President Jokowi had also announced the status of the PPKM Level in various regions. This was conveyed in a virtual press conference on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

Jokowi said that the implementation of the PPKM Level in the previous period brought improvements to daily cases, active cases, cures, and the percentage of BOR. This happened in several areas but was not mentioned anywhere.

"Taking into account these considerations, the government will continue PPKM Level 4 from August 3 to 9 in several regencies/cities," he said.

"Also with the adjustment of mobility and activities that are adapted to the region. More details will be explained by the Coordinating Minister and the relevant ministers," he concluded.
