Batam, Batamnews - The development of Covid-19 cases in Batam, Riau Islands has shown improvement in the last two days.

This improvement is indicated by the decrease in active cases and adding new cases as well as the increase in the patient's recovery rate. However, additional patient deaths still occur every day.

The Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team released the latest data on Corona cases on Thursday (29/7/2021). There are an additional 270 new positive cases of Corona.

In the period from 1 to 29 July 2021, Batam recorded 9,247 positive cases of Corona. This figure is more than double the accumulated cases in June 2021 of 4,342 cases.

The total positive for Corona is now 22,834, with active cases declining to 2,640 cases or 11.56 percent.

For additional patients recovering from Covid-19, today there are 407 people. The cure rate also increased to 88.51 percent or as many as 19,610 people.

The number of patients who died was reported to have increased by 15. The death rate increased to 2.55 percent or 584 people.
