Batam - Three dealers were arrested with 4.04 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine by the Riau Islands National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) in Tanjungpinang, last Sunday (20/9/2020).

The three people who were arrested were with the initials A (44), A (51), and H (35).

Head of BNNP Eradication Kepri, Kombes Pol, Arif Bestari, said that this arrest began with public information that at Pelantar Rakyat Pulau Penyengat there would be a crystal 'ice' transaction. It was suspected that illegal goods came from Malaysia.

"Receiving this information, at around 09.00 WIB the Riau Islands National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) officers left for Penyengat Island Port," said Arif, Monday (28/9/2020).

After arriving at Penyengat Island, at around 12.00 PM, BNNP Kepri officers saw a man who matched the characteristics said by the informant.

Officers immediately arrested the man, who after it was identified as A. From A, the officers found that there was a green backpack in which there were 4 packets of food and drink which allegedly contained methamphetamine hanging on the motorbike he was driving.

"We then conducted interrogations on the suspect and according to his confession, the one who ordered him to take the items was suspect A alias A who was in Tanjung Pinang," he said.

Then at around 12.45 WIB the officers carried out development and arrested A, who was at the side of the road on Jalan Jawa, Tanjungpinang City.

A day later, on September 21, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., A received a call from a person who claimed to be named S in Jakarta to deliver the 4 packs of crystal methamphetamine to H.

"Then at 13.50 WIB, officers carried out Control Delivery (CD) and arrested H in front of the trash cans located on Jalan Perumahan Indah, Sungai Lekop, East Bintan," said Arif.

After that, the suspect and evidence were brought by officers to the BNNP Kepri office for investigation and further case development.
