Bintan - A worker from China RCC, Dieg Youg, who was an employee of PT Shandong, was killed by a broken roller crane support pole in PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia (BAI) Area, Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Thursday (9/24/2020).

The man who was born on June 30, 1982, suffered severe injuries to his legs and body and died on the spot. His body was still in hospital in Kijang.

Gunung Kijang Police, AKP Monang Parlaguran Silalahi, confirmed that a foreign worker from China was killed by a roller crane at PT BAI, Galang Batang SEZ area. The unfortunate incident occurred on September 24, 2020, at around 17.00 WIB.

Based on the results of the investigation, Thursday (24/9/2020) at around 16.00 WIB the company where the victim worked removed the roller crane to be transferred to PT Vico, which was still in the Galang Batang SEZ.

The dismantling and removal of the roller crane were carried out at the behest of the foreman named Mr. LI because the work in the PT BAI Gas Station Area has been completed.

While in the demolition process, the gold poles or the supporting poles of the roller crane suddenly fell forward, it was strongly suspected that the alternating block of the roller crane had broken. Then the poles hit the victim who was on duty to open the alternate pin of the bomb pole or the main mast of the roller crane.

"The victim, who was hunched over, releasing the alternate pin, was finally caught between the support post and the main pole," he explained.

Furthermore, the iron pinning the victim is lifted using a roller crane. The victim was rushed to Bintan Regional Hospital in Kijang, Bintan Timur District (Bintim) to get help.

His life could not be saved. Now the victim's body was still in the hospital and it was planned that the body will be cremated. But still waiting for the approval of the victim's family who is in China RCC.
