Batam - As many as 12 Batam residents tested positive for corona after forcefully picking up the bodies of COVID-19. They are part of 23 people involved in picking up the bodies of corona positive patients.

Batam Health Office picked up 23 people who were involved in the forceful collection of the bodies to undergo an examination at the Galang Island COVID-19 Special Hospital.

"Yes, there are 12 positive people," said Head of Batam City Health Office Didi Kusmarjadi in Batam, Sunday (23/8/2020).

Of the 23 people, the Batam COVID-19 Task Force stated 12 of them were positive for the coronavirus in a release given on Saturday, midnight.

Six of them are adult men and women aged between 11 years, then three workers aged 40 years, 21 years and 60 years, two housewives aged 51 years and 67 years and an entrepreneur aged 44 years.

Still based on the records of the Batam Task Force, the 12 residents have been placed in the isolation treatment room of the Galang Island COVID-19 Hospital and their conditions are relatively stable.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the local city exploded. On Saturday night it was announced that 30 additional residents had confirmed positive.

Meanwhile, in the Batam COVID-19 Task Description, 30 additional reactors were confirmed positive, nine of which were symptomatic confirmation, empathic confirmation, and 17 people were confirmed as close contact.
