Again, Family Members Force to Take Corona Positive Patient Home in Batam

Batam - The forced repatriation of the bodies of positive Covid-19 patients in Batam, Riau Islands has been repeated. The family forcibly brought the body home from the Batam Concession Agency Hospital (RS BP Batam).

This incident occurred on Wednesday (19/8/2020). The body that was brought home by the family was known to be patient number 433 Batam.

The patient is a 47-year-old male and lives in the Bukit Asri Tiban Housing area, Sekupang.

From the patient chronology released by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 in Batam, it is known that this patient was taken to the Batam RSBP Emergency Room on August 19, 2020 in a Death On Arrival (DOA) condition.

Head of Batam Health Service (Dinkes), Didi Kusmarjadi, explained that the body was initially forcibly taken by the family. However, because the results of the swab of the body were confirmed positive for Covid-19, the body was brought back to RSBP Batam.

"Brought back to RSBP to carry out the screening of the body according to the Covid-19 protocol," said Didi, Friday (21/8/2020).

The collection of the body from the funeral home was carried out by the Gugus Team and assisted by the police so that the body can be monitored according to the Covid-19 protocol.

"The family brought the body because they did not want to wait for the results of the swab, so the next day after the results of the swab came out, the bodies were immediately picked up," he said.

Previously, the person concerned had a fever, so a nose / nasal swab was examined, the results were received and found to be positive, on Thursday (20/8/2020).

Meanwhile, the Task Force Team has carried out tracing. 24 people have been taken to the Galang Special Infection Hospital (RSKI) for swab test. It is also for shock therapy efforts to people who violate regulations related to Covid-19.
