Batam, Batamnews - There has been a significant decrease in Covid-19 cases in Batam, Riau Islands in the last two months.

After having recorded thousands of cases in a month in August in the final phase of the second wave of Corona, Covid-19 cases experienced a drastic decline.

This picture is displayed in the data reported by the Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team on October 31, 2021.

In September 2021, Batam recorded 286 new positive cases of Corona. That number has fallen considerably when compared to August which reached 2,258 cases.

The same can be seen in the October data. During October, there were only tens of new Corona cases, 42 cases to be exact.

In fact, on October 31, 2021, there were absolutely no cases of Corona reported by the government.

Active cases remain 6 people or 0.02 percent consisting of 4 self-isolated patients and 2 people being treated at a referral hospital.

There are no reports of patients recovering or dying.

The cure rate is 96.72 percent or 24,978 people. While the death rate is 3.25 percent or 840 people.
