Jokowi Promises Batam Industrial Workers as Priority for Gotong Royong Vaccine Recipients

Batam, Batamnews - Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad asked industrial workers in Batam to get priority vaccines for Gotong Royong. This was conveyed to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Wednesday (19/5/2021).
He conveyed that Batam is known as an industrial city, so according to him it can be included in priority. Apart from his party, the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) also conveyed the same thing, that the number of workers in Batam reached 400 thousand people.
"Batam needs vaccination support for labor migrants through Gotong Royong aid vaccine support," he said after a meeting with Heads of Subdistricts and Lurahs on the Engku Puteri Batam Center Plain, Thursday (20/5/2021).
On that occasion, Amsakar said Jokowi's visit to Riau Islands (Kepri) also related to economic growth in the Riau Islands.
"If Covid-19 is over, Batam's economic growth could reach 7 percent," he said.
Responding to this, Amsakar said that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo promised to prioritize the procurement of Gotong Royong Vaccines for industrial area workers in Batam, Riau Islands.
Currently, the Sinopharm vaccine to be used in this program is still limited, the total vaccine is only 420 thousand doses of the target of 30 million doses.
