Batam, Batamnews - The surge in Covid-19 cases in Batam, Riau Islands has not shown any signs of decreasing. Positive Corona cases have now reached 7 thousand cases.

Data from the Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team as of April 26, 2021, showed positively that Corona had reached 7,004 cases, with 533 active cases or 7.61 percent.

The increase in positive cases of Corona was also followed by an increase in patients who died, which has now reached 160 people or a death rate of 2.28 percent.

Meanwhile, there were also 33 more patients recovered, with an accumulated recovery of 6,311 people or 90.10 percent.

In general, the red zone still colors the map of the distribution of Covid-19 in Batam. There are 8 out of 12 sub-districts that have red zone status.

The eight sub-districts are all located on the main island, Batam, namely Batam Kota, Bengkong, Lubuk Baja, Batuaji, Nongsa, Sekupang, Sagulung and Sei Beduk.

Meanwhile, the two sub-districts that are in the orange zone are Belakangpadang, and Batuampar.

The remaining two sub-districts, namely Bulang, are in the yellow zone and Galang has the status of the green zone.
