Natuna - The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Natuna Regency, has now completed the activation stage of the PCR laboratory. The leveraging process has been carried out by the Batam BKTL (Environmental Health Center), Saturday (11/21/2020).

Chairman of Commission I DPRD Natuna, Wan Aris Munandar appreciated this. He hoped that with the operation of the PCR lab at Natuna Hospital, the results of the swab tests that have been sent to Batam can be done in Natuna.

This would speed up the time to confirm the PCR results. "In terms of time and cost efficiency, of course, it will also be lower," said Wan Aris.

Previously, the use of the PCR laboratory at Natuna Hospital was based on a meeting attended by the Head of the Health Office for the Riau Islands Provincial Health Office, the Head of the Batam BTKL, Head of the State Prosecutor's Office of Ranai, the Director of the Regional Hospital, Secretary of the Natuna Covid-19 Taskforce and the ranks of the Natuna District Health Office and Natuna Regional Hospital.

During the meeting, they agreed to operate the PCR Laboratory at Natuna Hospital.

It is known that swab specimens in Natuna have to be sent to Batam for PCR examination which will take time.
