Batam - Tiban Baru Health Center services had to be stopped. This was after 7 medical staff at the health center were confirmed positive for corona.

Head of Batam Health Office, Didi Kusmarjadi, said this step was taken to anticipate the transmission of Covid.

"The Puskesmas is closed for the next two weeks, services have to stop," said Didi, Monday (24/8/2020).

Didi mentioned, seven health center officers are currently known to be positive. This temporary closing step, he said, was the best choice. The location has also been sterilized by spraying disinfectants.

"Initially (it remains open) because there are only two cases and they have been treated, we want the service to continue running. However, based on the results of the health team, it turns out that the number of cases has increased by seven (officers). So it should be temporarily closed," he explained.

He appealed to residents who had sought treatment at the Tiban Baru Health Center so far, they could continue their treatment in other health center offices in the Sekupang area.
