Batam - Labor worker protest will reportedly be held at the Mayor Office of Batam and Batam City Council for 3 days starting from Monday (2/3/2020) to Wednesday (3/4/2020). A letter of notification circulated to the Barelang Police from Batam Labor Movements Alliance (AB3).

This demonstration was related to the rejection of Cipta Kerja Omnibus Law Bill to The House of Representatives of The Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI). In the letter the AB3 group estimated the number of workers involved at around 23,400 people.

Previously, the rejection of the Omnibus Law Bill also took place on Wednesday (02/12/2020) some time ago in front of the Batam Regional House of People's Representatives (DPRD) building. The action also became the part of protests that were held simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

The Omnibus Law has so far received criticism from a number of elements. The labor group, for example, is concerned that this bill will become a tool for the government to obtain foreign investment through colonial ways.

The Labor Union also rejected Jokowi's plan to change the formula for calculating the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in the Bill. They worried that the plan will lead to inequality in working wages and impoverished workers.

This bill is considered by workers to be very dangerous with its multisectoral nature. Even more obvious with a short period of time of planning the Bill.

However, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) believes that there is still a lot of disinformation or misinformation about the Bill.

Quoted from the official release of the Ministry of Communication and Information, the following are eight disseminations of disinformation on social media related to the Omnibus Law Bill.

1. Disinformation: a cluster of three labor issues, minimum wages do not go down or be deferred. The fact is: no, the spirit of the minimum wage does not go down. Because the Cipta Kerja Act is related to wages.

2. Disinformation: termination benefits are eliminated. The fact is, it's impossible, if it is adjusted according to the right calculation method according to the working period, it's technically arranged in it.

3. Disinformation: facilitate the entry of foreign workers. The fact is: there is a need for foreign workers who are not yet available and their presence is needed to ensure the investment goes well.

4. Disinformation: maternity leave, annual leave, large leave removed. The fact is: no, it still exists and is well managed to ensure smooth investment so that employment is not hampered.

5. Disinformation: environmental issues such as building, abolition of permits, environment and environmental impact analysis etc. The fact is that it is impossible because we are the lungs of the world, but it still has to be a concern, the analysis process being accelerated and simplified. IMB (Building Plan Permission) is made easy, there is no need to duplicate adjacent houses, everyone must have IMB.

6. Disinformation: halal product guarantee. The fact is that guarantees are not lost but are accelerated and there must be interference from MUI as well as other institutions that can help expedite them.

7. Disinformation: centralization of authority is only in the hands of the president. The fact is: Indonesia is indeed a presidential system, executive power is in the president and is distributed to the provincial / municipal / municipal government according to the law.

8. Disinformation: the central government can change legislation with PP (Government Regulation). Fact: Unlike that, the Indonesian constitutional system is not possible for PP to regulate PP. PP translates for more technical.
