Bintan, Batamnews - The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) level 1 in the Riau Islands Province has slowly revived the tourism sector, especially in Bintan Regency.

The head of the Bintan Culture and Tourism Office, Wan Rudi Iskandar, said that domestic tourist visits had increased as PPKM levels dropped. This is evident from the increasing occupancy of the inn.

"Both the occupancy of hotels and resorts in the Lagoi and Trikora areas has increased. Especially on weekends," said Wan Rudi, Tuesday (12/10/2021).

The occupancy rate for lodging in the Lagoi Tourism Area, especially on weekends, can reach 50-60 percent. They come from several areas, both from Bintan, Tanjungpinang, Batam, and others.

Then occupancy in the Trikora Beach Area, especially small resorts such as Madu Tiga, Hello Bintan, and others, has an occupancy rate of 80-90 percent.

"On weekdays the visits are still limited. But on weekends it is very crowded," he explained.

To open the border from Singapore, which is planned for October 14, 2021, everything is ready. Especially in Lagoi Tourism Area, all forms of facilities and handling during the Covid-19 pandemic are available.

"It's just that his party is waiting for technical instructions (juknis) from the Central Government. Especially regulations related to the 3-5 day isolation period, PCR laboratories and also blue pass preparations for tourists are tracked," he said.
