Batam, Batamnews - KM Kelud service has been temporarily suspended again. This was because the Pelni passenger ship underwent routine maintenance (docking) in Jakarta.

Last year KM Kelud also underwent docking in Semarang 6 September-16 September 2020.

KM Kelud usually serves the Tanjungpriok-Batam-Tanjungbalai Karimun-Belawan route.

Currently, the treatment started a few days ago and was expected to be completed on September 25, 2021.

Head of the Batam Pelni Branch, Agus Suprijatno, said KM Kelud underwent docking at PT DKB Jakarta.

KM Kelud was also the only Pelni ship that was currently sailing across Batam, while two other ships, KM Umsini and KM Bukit Raya were still serving Isoter patients (Centralized Isolation).

"So now Kelud is still operating, but for now it's a dock, usually there are Umsini and Bukit Raya. But still serving Isoter," he said, Monday (13/9/2021).

Agus explained this docking is routinely carried out every year. Among them are doing maintenance on the bottom of the ship.

For further news, PT Pelni will provide further information if the work process has been completed.

"Hopefully the 25th is out. Fill in the new fuel and supplies moving again. We will inform you later," he said.
