Batam, Batamnews - The condition of Covid-19 cases in Batam, Riau Islands has encouragingly brought a good sign. The downward trend continued until Monday (23/8/2021).

Coinciding with the last day of Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), the Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team released 24 new cases.

The number of active cases also decreased to 1.39 percent or as many as 352 out of a total of 25,280 cases.

Meanwhile, recovered patients were reported to have doubled from today's new cases, i.e. 48 people had recovered.

The cure rate is in the range of 95.4 percent or as many as 24,139 people.

The number of deaths due to Corona has increased by 2 people. The total number of patients who died in Batam was 789 people or 3.12 percent.

The decreasing daily cases of Corona in Batam also affected the distribution map.

Several villages reported to have changed its status to th green zones. Not only in the hinterland area, but also on Batam Island.

There are three sub-districts in Batam that are still in red zone status, namely Baloi Permai, Belian and Baloi Park in Batam Kota District.

Apart from these three sub-districts, on average, they are in the yellow, orange and green zones.

Nationally, Batam is still in the orange zone, based on data from Covid19.go.id.
