Batam, Batamnews - The integrated quarantine ward for Corona patients at the Batam Hajj Dormitory, Riau Islands has now been empty following a significant decline in Covid-19 cases.

The head of the Batam Health Office, Didi Kusmarjadi, revealed that the number of integrated quarantines at the Hajj Dormitory has been decreasing since the last few days.

"For the past 2-3 days, there have been zero patients in the Hajj hostel," said Didi, Saturday (10/16/2021).

With the absence of patients at that location, Batam Health Office pulled out health workers on duty and returned them to their respective health facilities, such as the Puskesmas and Embung Fatimah Hospital.

Until today, there are only 13 active cases in Batam. Among them 6 people have undergone self-isolation, 2 people have been treated at RSAB, 1 person has been treated at Soedarsono Hospital, 1 person has been treated at Embung Fatimah Hospital, 2 people have been treated at Elisabeth Batam Hospital, and finally 1 person has been treated at RSBP Batam.

Previously in June-August, Covid-19 cases jumped very high. At that time, the Hajj hostel building was used as an integrated isolation place. In a day, the building can accommodate up to 500 Covid-19 patients.

Not only that, the Hajj dormitory building was to be used as an emergency room (IGD). However, this plan was not implemented, because the number of Covid-19 cases continued to decline.
