Batam, Batamnews - Mayor of Batam, Riau Islands, Muhammad Rudi prohibits Corona-positive patients from undergoing independent isolation in their homes.

He said patients who were positive for Covid-19 would later undergo integrated independent isolation.

"It is feared that patients who are isolated independently cannot be controlled," said Rudi, Monday (24/5/2021).

Therefore, based on the advice of the Regional Leadership Conference (Muspida) and the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Riau Islands, OTG patients who are self-isolating should be placed in one location, and health workers are also prepared to that location.

"Hence, the patient (OTG) is not completely controlled. The meeting yesterday suggested from the Muspida and the Riau Islands Provincial Government, how can we take back the OTG. This is what we will discuss today with the Batam Municipal Government," he said.

The location of OTG patients has been determined, namely, the Health Training Center (Bapelkes) in the Sekupang area. If not accommodated, then his party also provides Batamcentre Hajj Dormitory.

"First, everything that is OTG starting today will be taken back. We will place it at Bapelkes Sekupang. Second, I will put it together if it does not fit we will place it in the Batam Center Hajj Dormitory," he said.

However, moving OTG patients to one location will be borne by the Regional Government, because the cost of treating OTG patients is not borne by the Central Government. Therefore, the local government will be responsible. Meanwhile, regarding the budget, his party will coordinate with BP Batam.
