An Illegal Carrier Ship Containing 3.395 Illegal Textile Rollers With No Owner Was Found

Karimun - The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Bea Cukai ) secured 3,395 rolls of textile fabric from smuggling in the sea area of Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands.
The arrest was carried out on July 14, 2020, around the water area of Pelawan Karimun. The goods were transported by KM Karya Sakti Wooden Ship. BC119, BC1288, BC1410, and BC 8001 Patrol Vessels were investigated.
But the goods mentioned had no owner. When the arrest was made, officers only found the ship and evidence.
Crew ship (ABK) escaped. The item that was found couldn't identify the owner.
"The ship is empty, it is suspected that the ABK have noticed the movement of the Bea Cukai Team and escaped," said KPPBC TMP B Tanjung Balai Karimun Office Chief Agung Marhaendra Putra on Monday (7/20/2020).
These items were hidden inside the hull, covered with 49 foam mattresses at the top. Bea Cukai team suspected that these textile goods were smuggled in from abroad. Not yet known which area would the goods be taken. The value of goods were around 12.7 billion rupiahs with the potential loss of the state 4.9 billion rupiah
The ship was secured to the dock at the Riau Islands Special Region Office for further inspection.
