A Suspected Corona Patient Runaways From Quarantine in Karimun

Karimun - The Covid-19 reactive patient reportedly escaped from the quarantine location at the West Meral Puskesmas, Tuesday (29/9/2020).

The patient was known to be an 18-year-old man, a resident of Meral District.

Before being quarantined, it was known that he underwent a rapid test at the Muhammad Sani Regional Hospital, on Tuesday (29/9/2020) with reactive results.

"The rapid results are reactive, a boy aged 18 years," said Head of the Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, Wednesday (30/9/2020).

After the rapid test results were found to be reactive, the hospital contacted the task force team and brought the teenager to be quarantined at the West Meral Health Center.

Because the results were reactive, the task force team brought them to the West Meral Puskesmas because they were quarantined, said the Karimun Task Force spokesman.

After being taken to the West Meral Puskesmas, the patient was found to have escaped from the quarantine room through the back.

"He knew it last night. Even on the CCTV recording, the patient had slept in the room," said Rachmadi.

Meanwhile, the Meral Police were searching for the patient.

"We (Police) also just got news this afternoon. So we took the initiative to go to the Puskesmas to follow up on the news and we are currently conducting a search," said the Head of West Meral Police, AKP Dody Santosa Putra.

Apart from that, the police also conducted an investigation and asked for information from the officers guarding the West Meral Community Health Center. "The chronology is not yet known, we are still asking for information," said Dody.
