An Indonesian Workers Dead Body Stored in Chinese Fishing Ship

Karimun - Two Chinese fishing ships employing Indonesian fishermen secured a joint patrol in the waters of Batu Cula, Selat Philip, Belakang Padang, Batam, Wednesday (07/08/2020).

When inspected, in the ship was found the body of a citizen who was stored in a fish cooler.

Based on the information, the body of an Indonesian citizen on behalf is Hasan Afriadi from Lampung. Hasan was known to have died since June 20, 2020, and his body was kept in the freezer of the Chinese-flagged Lu Huang Yuan Yu 117 Ship.

The combined officers consisted of Satpolair Polres Karimun, Satreskrim Polres Karimun, dan Ditpolairud Polda Kepri, Naval Base of Batam, KPLP, Bakamla of Riau Islands, DJBC of Riau Islands.

"We are helping to tail, lower the Polairud and the Criminal Police Chief of Karimun," said Karimun Police Chief, AKBP Muhammad Adenan, Wednesday (07/08/2020).

There were two ships secured by officers. Lu Huang Yuan Yu 117 and Lu Huang Yuan Yu 118.

"The body was stored in a freezer on the Lu Huang Yuan Yu 117 ship. From the description of a fellow victim on the ship, he died of lung disease," said Adenan.

The two ships are brought to Batam for further processing now.
